Moving Records

In some modules of TCSW, you can move records from one table to another. In fact, you can even move a set of records on which a filter is applied, as shown below:

In this sample set of records, we've chosen to filter the Mileage table on the month of 5/97. By clicking on the left-pointing red arrow above Imported Mileage we can tell the system to move the records from Mileage to Imported Mileage. When you move your mouse across the red arrows, "bubble help" will tell you the purpose of each arrow. In essence, the location of the arrow and its direction will tell you the purpose of the move. For example, a left facing arrow above the Imported Mileage table tells you that the move will be FROM Mileage TO Imported Mileage.

The system will ask you if you wish to complete the move and verify your request. Press the No button to cancel the move.

In our example, all 5/97 records have been moved from Mileage to Imported Mileage, so the "filtered" view of Mileage makes it appear that Mileage is empty. Simply select "Filter Off" to view the other months in the table. If you now check the Imported Mileage table, you will also see that the 5/97 records have been moved there.

This system makes it very easy to move months of data from Imported Mileage to Mileage to Mileage history with some simple clicks of the mouse.
